James A. Sylora, MD, attended the Stritch School of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago Maywood, IL, and received his medical degree in 1989. Then, he served his internship and residency in urology at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics, where he served as Chief Resident (1989-1995). In addition, Dr. Sylora received board certification in urology from the American Board of Urology (1997_. He remains a member of the American Medical Association, the Illinois State Medical Society, the American Urological Association, the Endourological Society, the Chicago Urological Society, the Chicago Medical Society, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the American Lithotripsy Society, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the Large Urology Group Practice Association. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Sylora acquired his Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Outside work, he dedicates to traveling and skiing with his family. As per his website, “in both research and patient care, Dr. Sylora has a special interest in mastering the latest advances in urology.
